Backup Policy

This backup policy is applicable for Hosted Exchange/Hosted SharePoint.

Apps4Rent has a comprehensive disaster recovery process in place for our Hosted Exchange Email and Hosted SharePoint infrastructure and services. This includes a weekly full backup of all Hosted Exchange Email accounts in addition to a daily incremental backup. The weekly full backups are kept for a period of one week and are overwritten during the next cycle. Weekly integrity checking is done by engineers to ensure that backups are good for various disaster recover scenarios.

The primary goals of designing the backup infrastructure/processes and policies have been driven, keeping in mind various disaster recovery scenarios. We do recognize that from time-to-time, users or administrators might delete a mailbox/public folder or an item in the mailbox. Such scenarios are not system level fault but a human error.

The primary goal of the backup policy is for disaster recovery scenarios, however, Apps4Rent can try to restore full mailbox or an item for the user upon request at a small fee. For Hosted Exchange mailboxes; backups can be retrieved from the full backup which is taken weekly. In case of Hosted SharePoint services, backups can be restored from the Weekly full backup preceded by incremental backups.

Backup restorations are performed on weekdays during business hours. Usually, such requests are attended too on the same business day, however depending upon requests it might take up to 3 business days to attend to restoration requests. Apps4Rent tries to restore the data for non-system fault issues on a best effort basis and is not responsible for any loss of data or data corruption.

As a policy, Apps4Rent encourages its customers to take their own backups locally using methods which suit them and their needs. Apps4Rent will not be held responsible for any loss of data arising from the failure of loss of data storage and/or backup.

Apps4Rent runs a full backup for all Hyper-V virtual servers once in a week. The backups are stored for a week and are overwritten every week when the weekly backup cycle runs. Should you require a server restoration, we can do this for you for a small fee. All server restorations are done between business hours on business days.

The primary goals of designing the backup infrastructure/processes and policies have been primarily driven, keeping in mind various disaster recovery scenarios. Apps4Rent can try and restore a virtual server to the previous backup which was taken during the weekly backup cycle. We have the ability to restore the complete machine. As a courtesy, we do keep the “original state” snapshot for a brief period of time. If Apps4Rent has the “original state” snapshot then engineers can try and restore the snapshot. However, “original state” snapshot restoration is subject to availability of snapshot.
